yo yo joe... i haven't posted for a while for i have relocated in the sunny lightning capitol of the u.s. but i saw that u could use some info on the anima since it could help u out in relating to this dream. u need to refer to carl jung for this one. i would goto this great dictionary site that has all kinds of relevent links for whatever u look to define. check this page out:

http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/anima

there will be great help for u there.

in short tho, its got to deal w/ the feminine aspects of the male conscious. every male has it... i guess sometimes its more or less apparent than others.

hope it helps

I think my absolute favorite part of the film is the part about fate and free will (I think this was discussed in another thread.) But many parts of the film stand out.. Damn, now I have to go watch it! What an excellent movie.

That would be awesome.

I still think the main reason GnR and RATM couldn't remain dead is because Slash and Tom Morello kick so much ass.

Tom Morello should just keep floating around to different bands until he dies.

Ayahuasca Report: Blooming and breathing patterns
« Result #4 on Jun 16, 2004, 7:05pm »

I finally experienced the true force of Ayahuasca today.

Last week I had made a first attempt at Ayahuasca by boiling the traditional Ayahuasca constituents (the rootbark of B. Caapi and the leaves of P. Viridis). The experience was hardly noticable and was more imaginative than anything else. I attributed this to two things: the relatively low dose that I had decided on and the drinking of both ingredients at the same time. I felt that I should have drank the Caapi bark first so that it's MAOI effects could take hold.

Being the persistent son of a bitch that I am, I decided to try two other plants in place of those that I had already tried. Mimosa Hostilis bark and Syrian Rue seeds. This time I was very intent on getting a full effect. Since Mimosa bark has nearly double the DMT content that Viridis leaves do and since I was using twice as much Mimosa bark as I did Viridis leaves the first time, I expected a pretty worthwhile trip. I cooked the plants all day on Saturday and let them ferment in refridgeration until today (Wednesday).

48 hours before the trip I began on the MAOI diet (no tyramine-rich foods such as beans, cheese, soy, etc.). I was intending on drinking it in the early morning on Wednesday and watching the sunrise. I stayed awake all of last night until about 5 but I decided that it wasn't a good idea to drink it when I was so tired. I decided to sleep for a few hours and then drink the Ayahuasca.

I woke up at about 1pm today. The following is the chronological order of what was to follow:

1:15pm - Took a shower and made the final preparations (got music ready, etc.). The trip was to take place in my glass enclosure/patio.

1:30pm - Drank the foul Syrian Rue seed extract :-/. I noticed that it had tasted almost identical to the first batch that contained entirely different plants.

1:45pm - I noticed a sedate feeling from drinking the seeds. I wondered whether this was imagined or real.

2:00pm - I slowly drank the absolutely vile Mimosa bark over the span of about 10 minutes.

2:10pm - I began listening to music on my headphones. The music first sounded very enjoyable. I noticed slight effects that were reminscent of the first attempt. These included blurs of light and increased visual sensitivty.

2:20pm - The music became too overwhelming. It wasn't negatively sounding...it just was annoying. All that I wanted to do was focus on my thoughts, which at this point were beginning to rush throughout my head. The visual effects were now increased and the walls and chairs of the room were expanding in size and stretching out.

2:30pm - I began watching trees in my heavily forested backyard. They first began to sway and then they seemed to be "breathing" (just as is often described in acid trips). Soon the leaves all began "blooming" and morphing into geometrical patterns that were harmoniously in sync with one another! It was astonishing. It would only happen to the tree that I focused on. I could choose the tree that I wanted this to occur to.

2:45pm - This was the visual peak of the trip. I continued looking at the amazing trees. This was one of the most beautiful events that I have ever seen. Soon I became engulfed in the visuals and at one point it seemed like I was relocated in an Amazonian jungle. This startled me quite a bit so I shook my head and landed back into reality. I always had control during this trip. The closed eye visuals were actually weaker than the open eye visuals. When I closed my eyes, my vision was comprised of just thousands of tiny vague specks of bright colors.

3:00pm - The visual portion of the trip seemed to end. I noticed that the trees were no longer geometrically morphing and that the walls were no longer breathing or resizing. My mind was still processing tons of ideas. I felt a euphoric warm glow and thought about where I would be going in the future. I thought about how I will one day have to be the head of a family. I decided that the trip was over and went into my room to clean up a bit. I was wrong...

3:15pm - In the middle of cleaning I started looking in the mirror. My pupils were extremely dilated. The colored section of my eyes were almost completely black. I then started feeling very light and it felt like I was in a dialogue with an entity that was communicating vicariously through my mind. This was undoubtily the strangest part of the trip. Something kept telling me that "you are an alien" and when I questioned this, I seemed to come to some realization that all humans are aliens. That (as some theories suggest) we really are derived from aliens and not naturally evolved. I soon felt completely overwhelmed with some sort of energy and I just said outloud "I understand!". I was sort of frightened so I went into my basement and started watching TV.

The remaining duration of the trip (the comedown) was spent watching the Discovery Science channel. The comedown was incredible and easily one of the best parts of drinking Ayahuasca. I felt like I was reborn and rediscovering the world. I was readjusting myself to being human and everything was suprising (from the production of salvia to the ability to stretch).

The program that I was watching on television was about Leonardo De Vinci and all of the people talking about him seemed to be making no sense at all yet all of the sense in the world. It was like I could see past them and analyze their human characteristics. I noted body motions, tones of voice, everything. It was unbelievable. This euphoria and intense analyzation lasted until about 6pm.

This trip is undoubtily the best one that I have had within my life so far. It felt very gentle and controllable and very powerful at the same time. The visuals were the sharpest and most defined that I have ever seen and I feel that I will remember them for the rest of my life. All of the many many thoughts that rushed through my head during this entire trip were extraordinary. It was an incredible journey and I am honored to have experienced it.

I heard Velvet Revolver's new single on the radio a week or two ago, I thought it sounded pretty good... at first I thought it sounded like an 80's metal song, and then I heard that it was GnR with Scott Weiland and that explained it.

Now that we have Audioslave(Chris Cornell with RATM) and Velvet Revolver(Scott Weiland with GnR) it would be interesting to see another band without a singer team up with a vocalist to make something happen. The remaining members of Alice In Chains come to mind. I know no one could ever replace Layne, but it would be good to see the remaining members of Alice In Chains together and doing something again.

Has anyone purchased or listened to the Velvet Revolver CD? The only song I've heard so far is slither. With Slash on guitar and Scott Weiland singing, I figure it has to be a decent CD.

If the vocals are anything like those on 'Core,' I might have to run out and pick it up.

Humans can not even understand how we ourselves are conscious. We definitely do not understand how to duplicate that consciousness.

We are not anywhere near capable of creating a machine that replicates the same consciousness and apparent decision making that we have. I think that artificial intelligence is just a science fiction idealogy and will remain that way for quite awhile unless we make huge metaphysical discoveries.

I definitely think that it is possible for A.I. to become just as advanced as the human brain, if not more. I remember watching a show on TLC about A.I., machines, and the evolution of technology. They actually predicted that A.I. would be as advanced as human intelligence within our life time.
The subject is very fascinating to me, and I would predict that the outcome wouldn't be that far different from the "Sky Net" experiment in the Terminator movies. If we create a machine life form more intelligent and powerful than us, then why would it want to stay under our control? I'm sure a super-intelligent machine would see the human race as ignorant, inferior, and savage creatures and would find itself more fit to be in control of the planet than we are. Hopefully we can create a sense of compassion in these machines along with upgrading their intelligence.

Yea, I'm definitely considering trying mushrooms again at some point this summer. I think I'm in a much better mind frame right now to eat them, and I've learned a lot from my last experience and in turn a lot about my limits when it comes to mushrooms... I'm going to try eating them differently if I choose to do them again.

I really enjoyed my outdoor experience while tripping the second time I ate mushrooms. I definitely want to eat them during the day again, watching the clouds and the sunset while tripping is just amazing. I've also been thinking about eating shrooms on a rainy day... I think that would be a very interesting experience.

Aloha all.

I was checking out this uber cool website earlier in the day and I started to ponder something.

Do you believe that a machine will ever become truly self aware anytime within our lifetimes?? ???

Ths page was made by someone who predicts that it wont happen in the next 50 years. 32% of people disagree though.

Whatya all think?

I like to take the optimist role but the humility of makind may just allow this cyber catastrophe to for real happen.
